Cacao Sampaka was founded in 2000 in Barcelona by a business group with a chocolate tradition and collaborators from the sector who share the same enthusiasm for the history of cocoa and chocolate. Behind the initial project there is a mixture of 75 years of industrial experience, with icons of design (Pati Núñez), interior design (Toni Arola), catering (Albert Adrià) and patisserie (Ramon Morató).
The aim is to recover and disseminate the cocoa culture through its establishments. The Cacao Sampaka shops always have their doors open, like in a market, with the product on display and within everyone’s reach; with a rational, modern and at the same time timeless style in their premises, they display the product in a simple way, to achieve their objective: to democratise the culture of cocoa.
In 2006, Albert pulled out of the Cacao Sampaka project.
